When you come home tired from work, the entryway full of jackets, purses, shoes and any other clutter gets old real fast. Especially in an apartment, you don’t want to miss out on any possible extra space. Plus when guests come over, all they really need is somewhere to hang their coats and a place to take off their shoes. So here’s how you’re going to transform your apartment entryway into something practical and aesthetically pleasing.

You may be thinking that the old fashion keys bowl works, something along the lines of “if it ain’t broke, why fix it?” While I do love a good key bowl, I think it may potentially waste precious real estate. You see, I’m a big fan of key hooks, they take advantage of the bare space on the wall and there are so many different designs out there that serve as conversation pieces as well. Plus with the space that you just opened up by not using a key bowl, you now have the option to display a tray for your sunglasses, small purses and mail. Here’s the exact one I used in this picture: Cute Gold Bow Hooks

Coat hooks or decor? Functionality over fun? Why choose when you can have both! Like key hooks, there are so many different options now, including some wall hooks that can hold 25 lbs and look like art all on their own. My favorite thing to do is to match the wall hooks to the vibe of the room, whether that’s matching the wall hooks to the color of my kitchen hardware, cabinets, or just the aesthetic. Here’s the exact one I used in this picture: Cool Art Door Hooks

the hidden shoe rack

I love hidden shoe racks and I think this is probably the most important part of maximizing the entryway space. They come in all colors, sizes and shapes but my favorite are the enclosed shoe racks. They not only declutter the space from messy shoes all over the place, but they also keep the entryway smelling nice by hiding any stinky shoes when they are closed.

Now you have the basic essentials to maximize any apartment entryway and have fun while doing it! For a more in depth tutorial be sure to check out my TikTok above and see exactly how I applied these steps in action.
